The recommended hotels are way too expensive in my opinion. Try
these:

Holiday Inn Express
2660 Monterrey Rd
San Jose, CA
11.4 Miles away
79.00 per night

Days Inn
1280 n. 4th St.
San Jose, CA
4.6 Miles away
69.00 per night

I would rent a car, but that is just me. The Cisco recommended
hotels range from 1.8 to 6.5 miles away and from $159 - $400 a night.
So take your pick if you want the recommended hotel list go to

Subject: Hotels in San Jose

Hello everyone,

I'm scheduled to attempt my CCIE security lab exam on Dec 2, can
anyone
recommend a reasonable hotel in San Jose near the Cisco Lab? For
those
people who have been to San Jose for their Lab Attempt, what's the
cheapest
hotel you can find? Do they have courtesy van service to Cisco, or
do I
need to rent a car? Would it be cheaper to rent a car for 3 days
rather
than take the taxi to and from the airport? Do I need to rent a car?

Joseph
