There is a lot of confusion around this. Below is what I found from
IPexpert
Below is a post I found at a website related to using null0. Answers are given by proctors:
One of the R&S lab rules state that no routes to Null are allowed unless otherwise stated in the lab.
In the context the rule was given it seemed that one is not allowed to create static routes to Null but
that routes to Null generated by a routing protocol (such as summarization in OSPF) are allowed in the
routing table. In an attempt to clarify this I asked the proctor this very question and I was told that routes
to Null generated by a routing protocol are fine. However, in looking at various CCIE resources, newsgroups
, etc. it seems many people believe that absolutely no routes to Null are allowed, whatever the source.
Can you folks settle this question once and for all, (since it would have made a great difference in how I
approached
some of my solutions during my lab attempt if routes to Null generated by a routing protocol are not allowed)?
When folks ask me this question in the lab, I turn them to page four of the test, where the general guidelines
are listed:
and I quote rule number one:
1 Static and default routes are not permitted unless directly stated in a question. This includes floating
static, static routes
to Null0 and routes to Null0 generated by any routing protocol.
An explicit allowance within a test question will override this rule. However I think the general
guidelines spells it out pretty well.

I am little bit confused also,,
If we can not use static routes,
Is " ip default-network" or default-information originate always" for OSPF
or BGP
Considered to be a static route? Therefore we can not use it in the LAB..

I have been told that we cannot use static routes evethough they are being
generated by the routing protocol. In OSPF for example, summary-address
will
generate a static route to null0. It is possible to get rid of this entry
by
using the discard external command.
My question is: How can I use route-map to inject a route to null0
without
using static route.
I want to see in the routing table 172.28.0.0 to null0
