I had posted this a while ago...
A prefix with a "local-as" community is NOT advertised outside CONFED AS
A prefix with a "no-export" community is NOT advertised to EBGP neighbor
(external AS).
So for eg. CONFED AS 65512 --- > peers 65515 & 65516
AS 65515 is peered to external AS 200 (note : 65512,15 & 16 belongs to AS
100) and confed peer 65517
Prefix 172.16.0.0/16 is advertised by AS 65512 to its CONFED peers with
community "local-as"
Prefix 168.12.0.0/16 is advertised by AS 65512 to its CONFED peers with
community "no-export"
Prefix 172.16/16 will not make to AS 65517
Prefix 168.12/16 will not make to AS 200
