BGP withdrawn routes - Strange?

Team,

I'm facing a strange behaivour in BGP...

R1(as111) ----- R2(as112) ----- R4 (as 112) & RR for R2,R5, R6
             \ / \
               \ R5 ----- R6 (both as112)
                 \ |
                   -------------------- R7 (as718)

The problem is that R4 sees routes originating from AS111 only from one
route, through R2.

Shouldn't R4 see them through R5-R7-R1 and R6-R7-R1 as well?
I expected 3 bgp paths and the one best, through R2.

Additionally, when I clear ip bgp * on R4 I see two paths to as 111
though R5 & R6, till iBGP
peering with R2 comes up. Then I have those routes "withdrawn" and on
the bgp table are shown
only the ones through R2.

Am I missing something? Or is it a normal RR behaivour (!)?

Any comment on that would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dimitris
