Dear All,

I would like to hear your advice as I've been thinking wether I should
prepare for my 2nd attempt or not.

As all of you might have known starting from 4th November 2002 Cisco would
replace 5500 and 3920 with 2 3550 switches. They would also remove Token
Ring, IGRP, and IPX.

I didn't get sponsorship for pursuing CCIE from my company and I have to
fund everything by myself. Therefore I will not be able to afford a 3550
EMI eventhough I might be able to get a 2900XL.

What do you guys think about the lab after 4th Nov 2002 ?
Do you think one should be able to be well prepared if they don't
have chance to practice with 3550 ?
Will 2900xl be good enough for practice as the routing function of
3550 would be similar to router ?
I'm thinking to have some rental rack time w/ 3550 but don't know
if it would give me enough hands on.

You can email you suggestion to me privately.

Thanks.

Regards,
Ronny
