In this job market you will need to have something on your resume that STICKS out. Their are less than 10K active CCIEs. The CCIE shows most recruiters that the person sacrificed time, money and grey hair to conquer the most prestigious IT Certification in the industry. Also for consultants this is a plus. And if you have some years under your belt this is also a plus.
