Because I don't like the reboot when upgrading the flash in the 2500 series, I boot it from a tftp server with a very small image (c2500-i-l.120-9.bin is 5.5MB large, and it loads just fine if you have 16MB of DRAM) and now, with this image loaded, you can upgrade the flash without a reboot because the image is no longer running from flash, it's running from RAM.

a serial interface? I have a couple 2502's (no ethernet) that I want to
upgrade via a TFTP server. I have connected them via a serial frame-relay
connection to a 2501. The 2501 is connected to the subnet with the TFTP
server. I can see the TFTP server from the 2502 initially. However, after
issuing the "COPY TFTP FLASH" command, the 2502 reboots and looses
connectivity back to the TFTP server, making it impossible to load the new
flash. Has anyone done this successfully?
