X thanks Stathis, this will definitely cure the problem..but i am trying
hard to understand what went wrong, only with this subnet..

also i observed another deviatiated respnse..

when i do a broadcast ping from the router

ping 10.253.251.255

- no hosts in the .253 subnet responds
but all hots in .254 subnet responds

-if i do a ping 255.255.255.255
response is the same..no host from 10.253 responds including the router..

does this make any sense??

Hi Senthil,

Try use on both HSRP routers "standby use bia" in order to force them to
use as Virtual MAC the Burn In Address.

Hope this helps.
