Hi All,

I have just finished 'playing around' with the simulator. It is very easy to
configure and works great!!. Ok, As I mentioned earlier it came with a
diskette that has the ISDN Simulator software verison 1.03 on the disk. All
I had to do was power on the simulator and open the file on the diskette.
You then have a choice of two switch types via a drop down menu:

basic-ni1 - supports SPIDS
basic-net3 - no support of SPIDS (European)

Below the switch type drop down menu you then have two tabs label 'Port A'
and 'Port B' which represents the respective physical port on the simulator.
Within these tabs you can assign your phone numbers for 'phone line 1' and
'phone line 2' as well as assign 'SPID1' and 'SPID2'. You then save your
settings to the simulator and off and running you go. VERY EASY!!!

Below this section is an 'event log' window that displays information
related to the simulator. Here is the output of my event log:

*** Log started 12-Sep-02 14:32:44
*** Firmware version: "V01.02 (Sep 3 2002) Revs:52/52/11/11"
*** Bootblock version: "V 1 (Sep 4 2002)"

To save your settings you have four buttons on the bottom of the page below
the event log labeled: 'Retrieve Settings' 'Save Settings' 'Clear Log' and
'Reboot'.

Already placed calls with it and it works great, support is there for
multilink and all.

To sum: I used a Teltone ILS-B when I was studying for my lab a few years
ago and would still have if my son wouldn't have spilled Kool-Aid on it.
However Teltone ILS-B = $1,855.00, VConsole Sim = $700.00. And it supports
everything the ILS-B supported from what I can see so far. There is no
question which to go with if your on a budget. If anyone would like some
screenshots of the admin software let me know.

Here is the output of a 'sh isdn stat' using the simulator:

R3#sh isdn stat

I just received mine today. It is very small, not much bigger than a PIX
501. I am powering it on as I write this. So as soon as I have had to
"play"
with it I will send some feedback. Mine came with:

1 ISDN Sim
1 Power cable
1 ISDN Manager 1.0 diskette
1 6ft. DB9 male/female cable

Hello Group, Does anyone on this group have an
ISDN simulator from vconsole.net. I find their prices very competative.
I
would appreciate if someone on this group who has the simulator could
give us a feedback of the product. Thanks,Tarun
