Xyplex terminal servers are very nice! They take up a whole lot less
space than an IGS or something ugly like that. :) 40 ports in a 1U
unit is pretty slick!
They just take a little getting used to, but they're cheap on Ebay!

Why not take a cheap router with ethernet like an IGS or 1600 and telnet
to it, then use ip host statements so it telnets to the Xyplex on the
ports that the routers are on:
ip host R1 2001 192.168.100.1
ip host R2 2002 192.168.100.2
....
I haven't specifically used the Xyplex so I am not certain that it uses
those particular ports for the sessions, but some minor variation of
that should give you an IOS interface to your term server.

OT, but Im sure im not the only one using the cheaper Xyplex units
instead of a 2511.
Trying to make a xyplex maxserver 1600 "feel" like a cisco 2511.
Anyone on this list fairly fluent in these Xyplex terminal servers care
to
share any tips on how to achieve this or something close? Sample
configs?
Links to good resources?
I've read 3-400 pages of command ref, config guides and still can't get
this thing to be easy to use. TIA
