You can only filter inter area and external reachability information in
OSPF and must do so at specific points in the OSPF domain (ABR's and ASBRs
respectively for the most part) Intra area reachability filtering would
violate the specification that demands that all OSPF routers in an area
maintain identical link state databases. An OSPF implementation should not
allow you to do so.
