Loose source routing allows any number of intermediate gateways to reach the
next address in the source route list, while strict source routing requires
the next address in the source route list to be on a directly connected
network.

Subject: OT: loose source route

Does anyone understand clearly how loose source routing works? I looked at
the rfc and I still have a question: Does the final destination have to be
reachable from the source or does it only have to be reachable from the last
address on the source route list? I am trying to figure out whether or not
I can discover private IP addresses from the public infrastructure by
putting the NAT router in the source route list. I don't have access to any
other smart people besides this list. I will be able to lab it in a couple
of weeks, so if I don't get an answer before then I will let anyone know
that is interested.

Matt
