I have only one thing to say about networking. Get to know your local Cisco
SE's and Sales people. They know everyone. They know all the VAR's. They
know who is hiring who is not. They know which VAR's are the best to work
for. If you can get in that loop and make friends with those people and
you are competent, you will always be able to find opportunities. If you
work for a VAR go to the local trainings. If you work for a company, go to
any Cisco events you can.
As with everything else, network with the folks that work in the industry you
want to work in.. This is the key to success.
