I would like to take this opportunity to put in my experience regarding
this!

My first attempt at the CCIE LAB was the two day where I did exceptionally
well
in fact I got all the way to troubleshooting! Just missing it in the END!

My second attempt was the 1 Day LAB which I found extremely difficult
and failed badly!!!

My point of view is that the 1 day seems more difficult than the 2 day was!!

There are no more points for simple things like IP addressing
Terminal server, F/R Switching ,hostnames, diagrams, passwords etc. Yes
Believe it or not with the two day you got marks for these tasks!

Thus the 1 day has eliminated all the "easy" points and makes the 80 points
required to pass
this exam more intensive!

I believe the reason why the turnover seems higher is because in the past
Cisco could
only have 2 exams per week where now they can have 5 per week!At each
testing center!

Maybe you statistic boffins can work out the exact figure on that one
and make it part of the "100 CCIE's per month syndrome"

Regards
Johan Meyer

With the 1 day exam, Cisco has tripled the number of people
taking the exam, and they still are building more seats at
the RTP.

As far as I know, the failure rate is still similar to the 2
day exam, 80% +.
