Use the client-id command instead of hardware-address. I usually specify the
default-router on host entries also.

Subject: DHCP manual binding
Hi,
I have got a problem about manual dhcp binding. I tried to give the
address 10.10.10.100 to a specific host. This is my conf. it is still
giving an address from the pool.
when I look the bindings ;
R2#sh ip dhcp binding
IP address Hardware address Lease expiration Type
10.10.10.4 0100.104b.aec7.9c Mar 02 1993 12:22 AM
Automatic
10.10.10.100 0100.104b.aec7.9c Infinite Manual
you see there are 2 bindings for that address, but i want the server
give the 10.10.10.100 to that MAC.
no ip dhcp conflict logging
ip dhcp excluded-address 10.10.10.1 10.10.10.3
!
ip dhcp pool umit
network 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0
dns-server 10.10.10.2
default-router 10.10.10.1
domain-name ccie.com
!
ip dhcp pool static
host 10.10.10.100 255.255.255.0
hardware-address 0100.104b.aec7.9c
I am missing something or I misunderstood something.
Best Regards
umit
