I stand corrected.

BTW, that was my second guess, that they just didn't get it finished in
time.

Thanks

My Cisco SE said the new code will include it (coming out later this
year).

Don't forget router bgp!!!!

I had been using my 3550 for doing labs, by using vlans I could get a
five or six interface router going pretty quickly. In contrast to my
2500's that only have three or four routing interfaces max.

Life was good, about a week later after finishing some eigrp and ospf
labs, it was time for some bgp. No Dice.

SuperKat(config)#router eigrp 1
SuperKat(config-router)#exit

SuperKat(config)#router ospf 1
SuperKat(config-router)#exit

SuperKat(config)#router igrp 1
SuperKat(config-router)#exit

SuperKat(config)#router rip
SuperKat(config-router)#exit

SuperKat(config)#router bgp 1
Unknown routing protocol

Now, I don't know all the facts, But I surmise that some marketing
executive with his feet on his desk figured out that all that good
hardware (PowerPC processor, etc) someone might want to run bgp, thus
hurting profits in another product line.

I believe that executive (if he exists) should be fired!

Why let your competition do something before you do? It's good
hardware, use it. If my 1600 can run BGP, I know this box can.
