Rick,
not reading ur mail completely as i'm sure you've tried the right steps
several times..
ran into this myself once too. in my case, the previous 3550 image had a
bug in which the boot system... command didn't stick in config, so the
only way was to delete all the other images, and load only the image you
want to upgrade to, in flash.
