Subject: Layer 3 over ATM
Quick question:
If you have to route more than just IP over an ATM connection, is it
possible to use a mix of Classical IP and RFC 2684. Obviously the ease of
classical IP is good, but if you have to route IPX as well then does it make
sense to just use RFC2684 so that the configuration is the same for both or
all Layer 3 protocols? I am not sure if the two can be run in conjunction.
Also as per Galina Pildush's book it seems to make sense to keep the config
very modular so that management of the different protocols is easier and
doesn't have any impact on each other.
Can anyone shed more light on this please.
TIA
