Well Actually even if it was a 100 Mb fast Ethernet and u would have to Redistr
ibute,it would have shown the cost to 20.Because by default external Routes whe
n redistrbuted into OSPF have metric Type 2 and the cost to 20 unless u change
the Type to 1 as it would also calculate the Internal Cost.

When I redistribute a connected 10 mb ethernet
interface (ospf cost of 10) into ospf using the
command "redistribute connected" a funny thing
happens.

The route is entered as an External Type 2 which is
fine because that is the default. But the metric is
20, not what I would expect of 10?

It seems as if redistribute connected doubles the
connected interfaces metric when redistributing into
OSPF.

Why?
