Which is consistent with IOS reference manuals:

"If the interface configuration includes either the encapsulation
 frame-relay or encapsulation smds command, then the default is
 for split horizon to be disabled."

After all, one cannot use "encapsulation" command on ptp or mtp
subintefaces, that's why in such cases split horizon is ENABLED,
as mentioned by Caslow.

BTW -
I am trying to learn as much as I can WITH IOS documentation,
which any of us will have access to during lab. That is why
I try to find references to all common problems on UniverCD,
so maybe they will stick in my mind, and I will find them
useful on the lab date.
