We have Extreme, Cabletron, and Alcatel layer 3 switches deployed, the
Extremes are simple to configure and extremely reliable (no pun intended).
Alcatel's command line is one of the worst I have ever seen, not at all
intuitive, and we have some hardware issues with them. We used to have
problems with NAT on the Cabletrons, but if your not using NAT they are also
pretty good. All of ours run anywhere from 2-20 Mbps of traffic during the
regular business day.

I believe Extreme/Foundry are giving Cisco the most headache in the
enterprise switching market. For speed at density, force10 has a nice box
as well, though i haven't played with it.
