No Ip Directed Broadcasts is a general security feature.

If you want I can send you, or anyone else who wants it, a copy of Cisco's
IOS Essentials "2000" PDF File
that has more information about router security. If you want it just ask.

The answer to your question is no. HSRP uses multicast. If you have an
