A bit more clarification ...
* If all the neighbors are EIGRP then use ipx sap-incremental eigrp X
* If ipx sap-incremental eigrp autonomous-system-number rsup-only is used,
you have to have RIP on the interface (since routing via eigrp will disabled
by using rsup-only)
* Otherwise as you mentioned we can use ipx update interval sap
changes-only, increase the interval and send changes only.

Nick,
I suppose that "rsup-only" allows one to take advantage of Enhanced IGRP's
incremental SAP update mechanism while using the RIP routing protocol
instead of the Enhanced IGRP routing protocol, then only incremental SAP
updates will be sent on the LAN interface.
Another option that I came across is to use "ipx update interval sap
changes-only". I belive this allows SAP updates to be sent only when the SAP
database changes. According to CCO, the changes-only keyword causes the
router to do the following:
Send a single, full broadcast update when the link comes up
Send appropriate triggered updates when the link is shut down
Send appropriate triggered updates when specific service information changes
However, the CCO does not say if the interface requires ipx rip or ipx EIGRP
running or maybe it doesn't matter, does any one know about this?
