Sorry Fellas,
it seems my story was too good and quite a few of us took it literarily.
I am only trying to start an "issues" ISDN thread.
Please feel free to contibute if it takes your fance, else just hit "delete"
SCENARIO A: SNAPSHOT (IP)
Should the BRI subnet be running a DV routing protocol? Must it be only RIP
or I/EIGRP will do too?
Should the dialer-list be "protocol ip permit" or more granular?
SCENARIO B: DEMAND C:
Usual issues about passifying and filtering broadcasts and peer neighbor
routes.
The big question here is how does OSPF/BGP or OSPF/RIP redistribution affect
this scenario?
Should the dialer-list filter interface address broadcasts or just the normal
"ip permit" will do nicely here?
SCENARIO C: FLOATING STATIC (IP)
what is the difference between multiple floating static routes and a default
router, if any.
Do I still need a dialer-list and if yes, is "ip permit" enough?
SCENARIO D: DIALER-WATCH (IP)
Would I need to run EIGRP across the link for this to work or any DV would
do?
I am aware I need two dialer maps, but the question again is about the
dialer-list needed.
While I obviously know the answers to most of these questions, I need to
satisfy myself that I have exhausted all the options and deploying the best
one.
Should there be other angles I have not covered regarding DDR, please feel
free to offer your advice.
Please limit your answers to IP only as that is the remit of this project.
Please feel free to add as you want and lets make this thread the definitive
DDR reference.
Working configs should be pasted where apriopriate.
TIA,
E'Guru
