Tom: Knowing which SAPs are used by SNA will offer no insight
into the functions that SNA higher levels are performing. For that you will
need to study SNA and become imersed in PU's, LU's and more. SNA uses LLC
Type 2 for exchanges with the exception of TEST and XID frames which use LLC
Type 1. The basic SAPs used by SNA are:
SAP 0x00 is the null SAP and is used with a TEST frame
or a XID (Exchange ID) frame
0x01 is reponse with C/R bit set (SSAP)
0x04 is the basic SAP for SNA traffic, SNA has SAPs
0x04 and all multiples of this SAP reserved so this
covers 0x04, 0x08, 0x0C, etc.
0x05 is 0x04 with the group bit turned on (DSAP) and is referred
to as SNA Group, likewise for 0x09, and 0x0D.
The last bit in a DSAP is the I/G (Individual/Group) bit; the last bit in a
SSAP is the C/R (Control/Response) bit. These can be 0 or 1 depending
on function.
The SAPs that can be used are thus 00, 01, 04, 05, 08, 09, 0C, 0D hence
the access-list for permitting/denying SNA is
access-li 200 permit/deny 0x00 00 0x 0D 0D.
