I think you would want to telnet to the PC then run a command line based
terminal program. I briefly looked at this solution, but decided it would
be easier to figure out how to configure a 3com terminal server I had.

Does anybody know how to use a regular PC as a reverse telnet machine. The
idea is to be able to telnet to a PC and then reverse telnet to one of its
com ports; similar to a 2511 router. The idea is to use a PC instead of
buying a 2511 or 2509 access server.
