What about doing profiles, and setting a particular network/profiles
to do testing, so a ping to the remote will test if the circuit
is able to dial, etc, etc.
I.e.
int serial 0
ip add mainnet.1
backup dialer 1
int dialer 1
ip add backupnet.1
dialer string 555-1212
int dialer 2
ip add testnet.1
dialer string 555.1212
