I'd say yes...guess it depends however. Are you sure that there's not going
to be any traffic leaving from the users PC's during the evening? Cron
jobs, large xfers a users starts before leaving, anything like that. Also,
if you want to be really sure you have no problems, why not setup HSRP (
assuming 2 cisco routers ) the day before. Have the shared IP have higher
priority on the original router and lower priority on the new - there
shouldn't be any traffic going through the new router. The Evening of the
change, change the priority of the backup router to be higher or just
shutdown the original router. An even easier way would be a broadcast ping
from the new router after the change is complete....Kenny

i have a router interface connected to my lan. their pc's have a gateway of
the ip on that router interface. if i move the ip address off the current
router to a different router on the same lan will everyone have to reboot
their devices in order to clear the arp cache or if i did it in the evening
and their devices were left on all night, would the pc's arp cache
eventually time out or clear with no intervention. thanks team.
