Jonathan,
You can enter the ring number on the router in Hex as well. The IOS will
automatically convert it to decimal.Look at this:
r3(config-if)#source-bridge 0x64 1 0x100
r3#sh run
interface TokenRing0/0
ip address 135.7.69.6 255.255.255.0
ipx network FFFFFFFE
ring-speed 16
source-bridge 100 1 256
source-bridge spanning

Problem fixed. The solution is to set a ring number on each TrCRF
created on the switch - leaving the setting at "auto" leaves the
connection in a non-functional state. (although "auto" works for
trcrf-default). The command "multiring all" (or multiring ip) is also
needed on each to0 router interface.
[I reported in a previous post that this fix didn't work. At that point
I my configs were muddled up. More likely it was my brain that was
muddled. <g> ]
I reset NVRAM on the switch and started from scratch. I successfully
pinged R8 from R3. I added BRF100 with children CRF3 and CRF8. I could
not ping any more. Then I assigned ring numbers 3 and 8 to CRF3 and
CRF8. I could ping again! I then removed "multiring all" from R3-to0
and R8-to0. I could no longer ping. I put "multiring all" back and I
could ping again.
Thanks Landon.
And thanks to Jeff Kesemeyer for reminding me that ring numbers must be
entered in decimal on the router and hex on the 3920. That's a good CCIE
Lab "gotcha" to remember, although it wasn't applicable to this
particular problem.

I see that the ring numbers for CRF3 and CRF8 says "auto". I think that
you should manually assign a ring number to both CRFs.
