I have found that sometimes a soft reset just doesn't do the trick. It
takes a hard "clear ip bgp *" to get the results I am looking for after
configuration changes. My practice would be to use the soft reset, and if
things still aren't looking the way they should, try the hard reset before
assuming the config is wrong.
