Neal,

you're probably running into a java plugin problem.

If this is the CV that shipped with CD1 4th edition, make sure that the
CD1 4th ed patch is applied and that your pc that you are using is IE 5.5
sp2, with Java Plugin 1.3.1.

you can remove the JPI, and point to ciscoworks:1741 and the right plugin
would be installed.

with ciscoview and certain devices there's another problem. XL switches
require 1.3.0 while catos work fine with 1.3.1

if things are hairier than above, suggest you open a TAC case
