It depends. The TrBRF does represent a bridge on the ring. The only time its
bridge number would need to be considered is if it were in parallel with
another bridge between the same two rings--then the bridge numbers must be
unique.

But say all three devices were doing SRB, and all were bridging off in
different directions. While the three must still agree on the ring number
(and speed) of the ring they share, all three could have the same bridge
number leading off that ring. Because the ring numbers across an SRB domain
must be unique, the RIFs built in each direction would be unique as well.
