Anthony
This again is down to interpretation, I would say if you don't need don't
configure it, as long as it works.
Its the same with ISDN callback and chap, you don't even need ppp
authentication chap on the callie as it is negotiated in the LCP header.
Thanks and HTH

Subject: ISDN:Does CCIE care about dialer maps on called side???
I notice all the pratice labs use a map on both sides even if only one
side needs to initiate the call. Also they include a name and usually a
dial string.
I have noticed in practice that this is not needed; even using CHAP the
map can be ommitted on the "callie" as long as both sides have the
others HOST name with identical passwords.
What is the "BEST" way to do this.
