Multicast question

Guys,

An interesting issue I have come up with - on a 8500 series router you
cannot assign pim to BVI interfaces. Yet on other routers you can. Is this
code dependant or is this poor design? The reason I ask is that I am
configuring multicast support across a campus with 5500 and 8540's. I use
VLAN's. Hence I need to apply PIM to the BVI's - yet you cannot do this.
Have I missed something or is this just no doable?

This also makes for an interesting lab topic - multicast with BVI's!!!
