Designer's choice?

The MACs in the output of the 'show bridge' command are always in canonical for
mat. Conversely, the MACs in the output of the 'show dlsw reachability' command
are in non-canonical format. It's just the way it is...<shrug>

As far as the 'bitswap-layer3-addresses' command on R5 is concerned, look at th
e ARP cache on R4--is that what you expected to see?

Subject: TB verification

Hi all,

I have simple set up for TB.

station 1 (MAC:00-01-02-97-C7-6A) ----e0 R5 to 0------to 0 R4

R5
int e 0
bridge-group 1

int to 0
bridge-group 1

bridge-group 1 protocol
bridge 1 bitswap-layer3-addressesl ieee

R4
int to 0
bridge-group 1

bridge-group 1 protocol

At R4
R4#sh bridge

Total of 300 station blocks, 299 free
Codes: P - permanent, S - self

Bridge Group 1:

Address Action Interface Age RX count TX count
0001.0297.c76a forward TokenRing0 3 5 0

I thought I should see the non-canonical address at R4 which is
0080.40CA.CB56 not 0001.0297.c76a (canonical address from station A ).

Can anyone explain ??

Many thanks

David Ham
