5.4.x? Hmmm...even my ole 2901 hamstrung at 4.x was able to change the native V
LAN, and I figured if that old thing could do it...Ah, a quick check of the 3.x
 'show trunk' command doesn't show the native VLAN, but the 4.x command does.

Would you settle for 4.x?

vlan 1 can be removed from trunk. you need software 5.4.x or above.

and ofcourse you can set whatever vlan as native vlan on a dot1q or ISL
trunk and clear vlan 1 if running 5.4.x or above

Yes. You need to set the native VLAN for the trunk to something other than 1
first.

Is it possible to clear vlan 1 from trunk on Cat 5000?
If yes - can it be done for both isl and dot1q?
