Actually, the default priority is 32678 and the 'set spantree root' is a
macro that runs a couple commands, the main one of interest being that it
lowers the root priority for that VLAN. It will change it to 8192 (or 16384
if you run it as the secondary root) by default. What this means is that it
will change it to 8192 IF this is sufficient for that switch to become root.
If not, the priority is set lower to force that switch to become root.
BTW, the set spantr root 0 command is going to start another long, nasty
discussion....
