Yes, I know someone who has gone to one. It was 10 days long taught
by CCSI certified instructors. The report was that it was kinda lame.
None of the instructors even took the written let alone the lab. Only
one of the students had taken the lab previous to the course either.
It was just a survey course that had instruction on each of the CCIE
topics. They did so much basics training that it never did get to
the depth a CCIE lab candidate needs.
They had some gear but it was 3 person teams and each person only did
part of the exercise.
The good part is that it was free and it does give you a feel for how
well you have mastered the topics, at least at a low to medium level.
That's all I know and this is second hand.
