Hi Guys,

Anyone here ever run EIGRP (or RIP, etc) on the
Ethernet0 interface on the RSP on a cat 8500 series?

With EIGRP, both the 8500 and 6500 were sending and
receiving the mcast packets but the 8500 side doesn't
seem to accepting them and building the adj. Nothing
in show ip eigrp neighbor. show ip eigrp int shows e0
is part of eigrp on both. On the 6500, I see a entry
under sh ip eigrp nei with the 8500 IP in init state
and keeps trying. So it's like something on the 8500
isn't hooking up.

So, I proceeded to configure with neighbor statements
on both sides (unicast) and it came up and works fine.
On the 6500 side, I had 3 other EIGRP neighbors
(mcast) and when I added neighbor to 8500 those 3 went
down and stayed down until I removed neighbor
statement. That was weird I thought and something I
need to look into because I had no passive interfaces.

So, I remove EIGRP and try RIP and get same result.
Broadcast/mcast don't seem to work but unicast does.

The 8500 I have is on IOS 12.0(20)w5.24a. I've looked
for bugs but haven't found anything yet that looks
relavent.

If anyone has ran into this before, I'd welcome your
comments. I'm going to work on it tomorrow a bit and
then probably just upgrade the code and see what
happens. I believe it's a issue on the 8500 side.

TIA, Erick
