Hello Oliver,
I'm not sure if I've exactly interpreted your question correctly, but there
is a very good example in Halabi 2ed on p411 using Policy Routing to direct
traffic to a destination depending on Source address.
You can include a backup in the Route Map by specifying multiple next hops
in the 'set' statement. If the first NH address is not available, it will
try the second one etc.
eg set ip next-hop 172.168.10.1 172.168.20.1
