Hello Irene

I have the same behaviour in my lab, all bgp routes learned by
ospf/Eigrp as well are taged with the ospf metric.

I use a route-map to set the metric to zero thats the workaround
for the moment but there is maybe a command to set the bgp metric to zero
by default.

rack5r2#sh ip bgp
BGP table version is 34, local router ID is 133.5.2.2
Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i -
internal
Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? - incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path
*> 133.5.22.0/24 0.0.0.0 176128 32768 i

rack5r2#sh ip ei top
P 133.5.22.0/27, 1 successors, FD is 176128
         via Connected, TokenRing0/0
         via Redistributed (176128/0)

Subject: BGP and Metric

Hi all,

I am trying to understand the Metric parameters in the "Show ip bgp"
command
- see below.

I am "not using MED"(no MED config. nowhere) and however for the same
network 195.110.250.40 we can see metric 71 and 70.

Can you help me ?

Thanks

Irene.

ROUTER#sh ip b
BGP table version is 760, local router ID is 3.3.3.8
Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i -
internal
Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? - incomplete

Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path

* i195.110.250.40/29 3.3.3.9 71 180 0 i
*> 0.0.0.0 70 32768 i
