You may need to do go that route (console), but first see what you can do
from the rom monitor. I know that with a 2600 series router, you can set
all the variables necessary to tftp the image over from a directly connected
tftp server, and then just tftp it over. The help option in the rom mon
mode should tell you what variables you need to set (at least in a 2600. I
haven't done this with a 2500 from rom mon mode). It seems tedious the
first time you do it, but it's not that bad. I don't know if it saves any
time, but it gives you an opportunity to get more comfortable with the rom
monitor mode.

I guess one could just as easily say that using the console port to kermit
the file over gives you experience with that.

Best regards,
Tom Larus
