Probably for the same reason as I am. It's AFAICT the only release
that supports running a PA-MC-2T3+ in unchannelized mode on a 7206.
I assume you're wanting it for that reason. I haven't been able to find
a 12.2 IOS that supports the PA-MC-2T3+ in unchannelized mode. It's not
something that shows up in the hardware/software matrix to even look for.
Or did you want that specific release for something else?
I've found that it doesn't support some of the features we need for ATM
DSL on the same router such as atm route-bridge IP. We chose to stick
with the 12.2 T-train and go with a PA-2H and Kentrox IDSU. I also had
to bounce an interface a couple of times to get BGP to establish a TCP
connection after a reboot. This despite there being IP connectivity via
ICMP ping with the directly-connected peer. IMHO, not ready for prime
time.
Also note that the 12.1(11)bE3 IOS was released before, and doesn't
include, the SNMP security patch. Be careful on production routers,
especially if you'll be enabling SNMP in any form.
