Just an idea for those who do not have a rack or mounting brackets. I made
slotted "shelf" that holds 10 Cisco25xx or Cisco 26xx routers. Each router
slides between two 9" long 2x2's -- fan side down. The fans and all vents
are totally open -- and there is 2" between each router. The length and
width of the shelf is approximately the same as a standard rack with routers
mounted. The height of the shelf is less than 2 feet.

Since routers are mounted interface side up, it is easy to make and change
connections.

I had 2 - 2500 series routers that lost there power supplies due to
stacking one on top of the other. There were 8 or 9 of them stacked on
top of each other at the time. Definitely need spacing between them or
risk losing the power supplies.

Now I have an APC rack.

I recently purchased 6 routers and have them stack one on top the other.
5 are 2501's with the ventilation on the bottom. Aside from placing
them in a rack, would spacers between each router suffice for proper
ventilation? Also, where would one obtain the mini rack to hold 6
routers?
