You are probably right... I think this is a hardware issue with 2600. But
that wasn't my real prob.. :-)

I know that the NM-1E2W I have (which would normally go into a 36xx) WILL
NOT work in a 26xx. I suspect that it is the same thing with your NM-1E1R2W.
This was according to Cisco when I opened a case a few months back. They
pointed me to the release notes for the 2600 or the NM, I can't remember
which but it was in there.
I have not found any way to add a token ring module to a 26xx either through
NM or WIC. I guess you have to buy the model with one.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Nope... another slot or another router, the same problem...
The NM also doesn't work on 2600, only 3600...
it's a 1E1R2W . It's probably a hardware problem.. but sort of weird to be
intermitten in this manner...
