Option 1 could cause even more issues, default gateways could be a concern
 depending on the OS, or even running a routing protocol on the server is
far from ideal...
  Not to mention potential NAT issues etc... FastEtherchannel would
probably be the best
idea, if your switch doesnt support it, some server level NICS have their
own (3Com, Compaq)
teaming options, for both HA and load balancing, albeit not neccesarily at
the same time, or possibly
not symetrical...
