Chris,

Yes, this is always an option to manually clear the trunk,
however I was looking for a more dynamic way. Now that I'm thinking of
it more, there probably isn't a way, since I haven't seen any commands
for a router to join a VTP domain. This is the error message I'm
getting if anyone is interested:

02:38:08: IP ARP req filtered src 170.5.1.254 0001.429c.4d00, dst
170.5.1.1 0000.0000.0000 wrong cable, interface FastEthernet0/0.50

Fa0/0.50 is VLAN 50 off the ISL trunk. 170.5.1.0 is not on VLAN 50, nor
is it on this router at all. I'd assume that this is either an IOS or
CatOS bug, but I'm asking for it by running a T train anyways ;)

Why not remove the VLANs that are not being encapsulated from the
switchport's trunk entirely? That would do the trick. If it is a 3500 or
2900 series switch the command would look like this:

Switchport trunk allowed vlan x(,y,z or -z)

This should accomplish what you are looking for.

Groupmembers,

When doing a router on a stick config, is there a way to
have the router send prune messages down to the switch? I have a 3600
whose arp cache is getting corrupt due to VLANs it's not encapsulating,
and arp messages received from them.
