Folks ,
I have question about how to do summarization of EIGRP
routes into OSPF on R5 only which is an NSSA ABR .

When I do area 4 range 11.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 on the NSSA ABR it does not
result in the routes being summarized at all .

ON R3 in OSPF domain

R3#sh ip route 11.0.0.0
Routing entry for 11.0.0.0/8, 4 known subnets
   Variably subnetted with 2 masks
   Redistributing via ospf 1

O E1 11.3.0.0/16 [110/866] via 10.10.1.1, 00:00:11, Serial3/1
O E1 11.2.0.0/16 [110/866] via 10.10.1.1, 00:00:11, Serial3/1
O IA 11.0.0.0/8 [110/846] via 10.10.1.1, 00:00:11, Serial3/1
O E1 11.4.0.0/16 [110/866] via 10.10.1.1, 00:00:11, Serial3/1
R3#

When I do summary-address 11.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 ( as this area is NSSA I am
allowed to do the summary -address command on the ABR also ) alone it
results in :

on R3

R3#sh ip route 11.0.0.0
Routing entry for 11.0.0.0/16, 1 known subnets
   Redistributing via ospf 1

O IA 11.1.0.0/16 [110/846] via 10.10.1.1, 00:00:08, Serial3/1
O E1 11.0.0.0/8 [110/865] via 10.10.1.1, 00:00:08, Serial3/1

When I combine area range command and summary-address I get

O IA 11.0.0.0/8 [110/846] via 10.10.1.1, 00:01:06, Serial3/1

Can anyone explain what exactly is happening here?

Thanks

Jaspreet
