frank -
i know it's indirectly answering your question, but i can recommend a hotel
for UNREASONABLE internet access. the hotel was great, great service, great
food, etc. but i stayed at the Embassy Suites in Milpitas and dialed in from
my room. 19.2k. that's it. that was painful. i saw a billboard somewhere
advertising highspeed internet, but don't recall the hotel name. it wasn't a
big name like Hyatt or Sheraton. but at least it indicates that someone has
highspeed internet. in fact, if you don't need it in your room, Larkspur
Landing has highspeed internet and other stuff in the Guest Business Center.
i think it's a little further from the lab, but it was pretty nice. i stayed
there about 9 months ago, so i don't know what it looks like now. i also
recall it was close to some decent places to eat. there was a breakfast
place within a few blocks. anyway, hth.
take care and good luck.
