For ATM, check out a Group Study post on 4/16/2002 with the subject "ATM
Router Selection (a must read!)".
For Token Ring, you will probably want to get a couple of Token Ring
NICs as well to test some of the DLSw+ stuff.

Subject: Help on setting up lab for the CCIE lab exam
Hi All,
I needed help on setting up a lab for CCIE lab preparation at my office.
The Routing part is mostly taken care of because we have the required
routers,mostly 2500 and 2600 including 2 Token ring routers.
I need some help on what minimum equipment will I need for the ATM labs
and Token ring labs.
Queries regarding ATM.
1.For the ATM part will it be possible to have ATM modules on cisco
2600 .
2.Like we do for FR is it possible to do ATM back to back between 2
routers with ATM modules , in FR this can be done . I am not very sure
whether it is possible on ATM. Will this be enough for the CCIE labs?
3.If I am planning to go in for a ATM switch what should i ideally go in
for . Is it better to go in for a catalyst 5000 with ATM LS1010 switch.
Queries regarding Token ring.
1.What are the necessary items for Token ring labs other than MAU, and
token ring interfaces.
2.Is there any difference in the cables used?
3.Will i require any convertors.
Please advice me on any other tricks which i can use in setting up a
full lab.
Thanks in advance
John
